Spurs Vs. Thunder

When the spurs opened the series with a convincing 122- 105 win over the Oklahoma thunder, then doing it again in game 2 this time winning by 30+ points most spectators and even thunder fans became really disappointed. Some even believed the Spurs would sweep the Thunder. However those who doubted the will of the Thunders dynamic duo, Westbrook and Durant, were in for a show when game 3 & 4 came around.
Game 3 was full of excitement for the Thunder fans, Serge Ibaka was set to come back to try and help his team come back from a 0-2 deficient. Ibaka did just that scoring 15 points, grabbing 7 rebound and blocking 4 shots. however it wasn't only Ibaka return that gave this team some confidence, Westbrook also picked up his game scoring 25 points and leading his team in assists (7)
Game 4 was where we saw just how dangerous the Thunder can be when they get one guy going, that man being Westbrook. he bring so much emotion to the game which gets his teammates going as well and it lets us a spectators enjoy watching the game even more. the Thunder lead the game most of the way and beat the spurs- 105- 92. Game 5 will be back in San Antonio with the Spurs seeking some revenge.

Western Confrence Finals

The Oklahoma Thunder and the San Antonio Spurs will go face to face in what is expected to be an extremely competitive series for the Western Conference title. The San Antonio Spurs have "The Big 3" who are former NBA champions and have been playing together for years. These 3 are considered one of the most dominant players in the league and are highly respected because of their years with this association. These 3 are Manu Ginobili (Age 36), Tony Parker (Age 32) and Tim Duncan (Age 38) Last year these 3 carried their team to the NBA Finals who then lost to The Miami Heat in 7 games.
On the other hand, The thunder have the dynamic-duo which include this years MVP, Kevin Durant, and Russell Westbrook. These two have brought this team to live. In the past years the Oklahoma team as an irrelevant one, until these two carried the team past all the negatives. Now for the past couple of years The Oklahoma thunder is a well respected team. Both Durant and Westbrook bring so much emotion to the court which makes it that much more exciting to watch them play. I look forward to watch these two teams go head to head.

Confrence Finals

The Second Round of the NBA Playoffs has come to an end. With the Oklahoma Thunder facing the San Antonio Spurs for the Western Conference title. And The Indiana Pacers taking on the former NBA champions the Miami Heat for the Easter Conference title. All 4 teams have worked hard to get here not only in the playoffs but also in the regular season. For those of you who aren't aware of how the playoffs are laid out, all teams compete throughout the season for 82 games. Then the best 8 teams from both the west and east advance to the playoffs where their rankings determine who the will face. There's the First Round of the playoffs, then the Semi- Conference Finals, next the Conference Finals, And finally the Finals.
Just like The first round, there is always a little drama that takes pace with these big games. In the Series between the Los Angeles Clippers And the Oklahoma Thunder who were competing for a spot in the Conference Finals, there was a lot of controversy in game 5 where both teams trying to take a 3-2 Lead. However they couldn't make that possible. Through out that game The Clippers maintained the lead through out most of the game and when it came to the 4th quarter most fans and spectators thought they had this game in their pockets. However the thunder made one last push which got them within 6 with 42 seconds left. That's when things got out of hand. A few bad calls were made from the ref, one that according to Dock Rivers (Head Coach of the Clippers) was a "Series defining" call. Doc Rivers was later fined for his comments and the Los Angeles clippers couldn't force a game 7.

First round NBA Palyoffs

The first round of the NBA playoffs have been full of many surprises. Commenters say this is the most fair match up they've seen in years. With only 1 blow out, 5 out of the 8 games all went to a game 7. The 4 teams that will advance to the Western Conference Semi finals are the Sacramento Spurs who will play the Portland Trail Blazers and the Oklahoma Thunder who will face the Los Angeles Clippers.  The teams advancing to the Eastern Conference are the Brooklyn Nets who will face the Miami heat, defending Champions, and the Indiana Pacers who will face the Washington Wizards.
Although the first round was great there are always a few problems here and there. The Clippers Owner, Donald Sterling, made a harsh racial statement over the phone to his girlfriend which was so bad that lost him his team and he is currently being fined the maximum amount by the NBA commission. Adam Silver with only 82 days of being in charge made history by banning The clippers owner for life and forcing him to sell the Clippers Franchise. Among those interested in purchasing the Clippers is former 5X Champion Magic Johnson. Johnson was the subject of part of the heated comments made by Mr. Sterling to his girlfriend for posting a picture of Her and Johnson on instagram. This Past week has been a historic week in NBA History we'll see what the second round bring us.
